The JAE Results Day and Appeal Process
Edit: The JAE posting results are out! You can access MOE’s JAE system to check your posting. We’ve also made some updates and changes to this blog post now that the results are out.
Posting Results Day
What you will now know:
- The course you’ve been posted to
- This year’s cut-off points of all the courses
The Enrolment Package and Accepting the Course Offer
At a later date, you will receive an enrolment package from TP through mail. You will receive 2 if you successfully enrolled into 2 courses through the JAE and JPSAE.
To accept a course, you will need to complete the enrolment process described in the package. If you have 2 packages, you need to choose between which course you’d like to accept and proceed with that course’s registration.
JAE Appeals
If you don’t want the course you’ve been offered, you can appeal.
- To be eligible to appeal for a course, you must first meet the course’s 2012 Cut-off Points. You can then access the JAE Appeal system and register your appeal choices.
- This official appeal process is, like the JAE itself, based on merit. Once the appeal process has been completed, students will be posted based on their results.
- Students who successfully appeal into a new course will NOT have the option of going back to the course they were first offered. In other words, do not appeal unless you really do want a change.
- Students who do not successfully appeal will still be able to accept their previously-offered course. In other words, an unsuccessful appeal will not leave you without any course.
Many do ask us how high a chance they might have of appealing into a course. We can’t actually predict, so what we can do is to describe the process in simple terms to help you understand it a bit better.
Let’s assume that Course XYZ has an intake of 100 students.
Out of them, 85 students accept the offer. 15 other students do not, either because they’re offered another course via JPSAE or because they want to appeal into a different course.
This, technically, leaves 15 places available for appeals. 30 applicants try to appeal into XYZ, and the system chooses the best 15.
Remember that this is a simplified explanation of the process, but this should at least let you know that, yes, there’s a chance for your appeal to be successful.
Hope that helps! Do let us know if you need anything else.
What if we do not receive the enrollment package?
If you do not get the enrolment package within a stipulated time, you can contact us and we will try and facilitate your enrolment from there.
How long is the stipulated time?
My daughter was told that if she choose Diploma in Business Analytics (T57) which is a new course and put it down as her first choice, she will get into that course. However, she was given her second choice instead which we did not fully discuss that option in detail.
Can she appeal?
Thanks
Can my child try her luck to appeal to the course that above her cut off? Let say if her score is 17 can she appeal for courses that is cut off at 14?
hi!how do i appeal into a course i like?
Can i go straight down to tp to appeal .Im really interested in a specific course but i missed the cut off by 2 points
Hi Regina – you can come down to seek advice from our lecturers, yes. We’re open today till 4pm.
Hi Sally! It depends on whether or not you have met that course’s COP first. What’s your EL1R4, and which course would you like to get into?
Hi Bee Eng. Unfortunately she can only appeal into courses with cut-off points that she meets.
Hi Patrick, yes, she can appeal as long as she appeals into a course with a COP that she meets.
when can we start appealing? Now or a later date? If yes, than where do we go to appeal, the school directly or online? Thanks
Hi, can I ask how long does it take from the posting result to receive the enrolment package?
I was being posted to JC and I wanted to appeal to TP. I just went down to TP and appealed. My net aggregate is 5 points lower than the COP. Is my chance of getting into the course high?
My daughter appealed into a course with a COP that she met but was unsuccessful. Can she appeal to the same course again? (11 pts) When can she appeal?
Hi Joan – unfortunately there’s no 2nd appeal process. However, if you’d like, you can write in to admissions@tp.edu.sg to speak to our admissions staff.
Is jae and dae student starting school at the same time? and if i appealed for jae the second time to change course and fall under dae appeal, will i still have my Jae posted course enrolment package? Will i still have my Jae posted course if my DAE appeal to change course fails? thank you.
When will the JAE results be out?!
Hi, the JAE results are already out actually. Are you a local or foreign student though?
Hi! Actually yes, typically speaking the JAE and DAE students should start school at the same time.
You will still have your JAE posted package and place. If you choose to instead accept your DAE-posted course, the polytechnic will facilitate a course transfer for you.
When will the DAE appeal results be out??
Hi Joan, the results of the DAE applications and appeals will be out by March.
I have not received my enrolment package yet.Is it normal to wait until now but still not received yet.
Why can i still appeal for my course in 22 february 2012 and it states that i will receive my posting result in mid-march? Btw i appeal for biomedical science in tp and the cop for this yr is 11 whereas i got 12 . Do i stand any chance?
And does it mean that i will also start school ard april ?
btw it states admission exercise : JAE
are the dae results out? cause from what i see from the enrolment system, the dateline is not out yet and my status is stil pending.
